Microsoft Word is a word processing programme that is intended for creation of professional documents, for instance resumes, newsletters, fax cover sheets, audit reports, legal documents, brochures, manuals and so on. It is an efficacious application for students, business owners and even individuals to have got on their pc. The Word was designed by Microsoft. Its original name was Multi-Tool Word. The first version was released in 1983. Since then, there have been developed several other versions, including the latest version introduced in 2008. The next addition of Word is scheduled to be released in the coming 2010. It will include a great many new features typical of other applications in the Office 2010. Microsoft Word 2010 will contain new WordArt styles and effects supplanting the old ones. Although Word is a component of the Microsoft Office system, it is also sold as a standalone software package and included in Microsoft Works Suite. Starting from the 2003 addition, the brand name was altered to underline Word's identity as a constituent within the Office Suite. The company renamed Microsoft Word into Microsoft Office Word. Microsoft Word allows users to type, format and modify text to create documents that can be printed or viewed electronically. The Word Format is a reasonably priced word processing program. The application offers a great number of tools and features, and a great many users are familiar and frequently use Microsoft toolbars. The Word file format provides tools to format fonts, add clipart, add page numbers, and create headers and tables. There is even an "office assistant" cartoon that can guide a user done the creation of a document or reply to any FAQs that may arise. Word's formats are denoted either by a. doc or. docx file extension. The newer ".docx" extension stands for the Office Open XML international standard for Office documents and is deployed by Word 2007 for Windows, Word 2008 for the Macintosh.
