There is hardly any person at the present time who has heard nothing about the representatives of emo culture, famous as emo girls and emo boys, or in general emo kids. Emo represents a subculture of youth originated from the followers of the style in music of identical name. You can see emo kids every day, though probably you do not pay attention to their specific style. With a general intention to be distinguished from the crowd every person with a non-typical appearance seems just to express his personality. But nevertheless, you'll easily recognize representatives of emo culture in case you read about their particular features. Firstly, the term "emo" descends from the word "emotional", so the fundamental rule for emo boys and girls is to express their emotions. They are meant to be very sensitive to what's happening around them and intolerant to unfairness. They particularly emphasize lofty love. That is the reason why there is a stereotype opinion of emo kids as weepy girls and boys. Emo kids have their own style so that they're easily recognized. Their traditional hairstyle is a slanted fringe over one eye and short hair standing on end on the back of the head. Straight black hair is especially preferred. Emo girls usually show preference to child's hairstyle like pigtails and bows. Both male and female emo representatives usually have their ears pierced. Some of them also have piercing on the face or other parts of body. Emo kids also usually underline eyes with black mascara or eyeliner, when at the same time the lips are made of the color of skin. As for the clothing, emo kids give preference to the combination of black and pink color. Black refers to depression because of being rejected and misunderstood. Pink color underlines bright hopes of emo kids for the future and their challenge to the common gloominess. The 2 colors are common for emo kids, but other vivid combinations of colors are also acceptable. Tight T-shirts, jeans and sneakers are the most popular clothes for the representatives of emo culture. Emo culture is a specific trend of modern young people that assists them in expressing themselves and finding new friends who understand their vulnerable nature. |
